TOGO Demonstration Completion – 13th of December 2023

We are very proud to announce that despite the various difficulties faced by the team, the TOGO demonstration was finally run successfully on the 13th of December 2023. We are very grateful for the support and participation of TOGO authorities, and for the valuable feedbacks they shared during and after the demonstration in Lomé.

GAMBAS Dissemination September – November 2023

Between September and November 2023, SYNTHETICA participated to below events and took the occasion to discuss (no official presentation) about the GAMBAS project (principles, progress and demonstrations) and/or distribute flyers in the three events:

SPAIN DEMONSTRATION COMPLETED – 14th of November 2023

GAMBAS team is very proud of the successful completion of the demonstration in Spain on the 14th of November 2023. Thanks to the support of SASEMAR that allowed the team to embark onboard the SAR MESANA vessel for a trip between Barcelona and Tarragona, the team run the planned scenarios (SAR Distress TWC & DPS, EWS, Illegal Activity) under perfect conditions.

Also EMP platform was installed and operated by SASEMAR personnel during the whole demonstration providing the team with key feedbacks about the GAMBAS solution.

The team is now focusing on next and last demonstration.

GREECE DEMONSTRATION COMPLETED – 21st September 2023

We are very proud to announce that the first demonstration in Greece was completed successfully on the 21st of September 2023! Thanks to the support of SEAVEN that allowed our team to get onboard the tanker Seaven Voyager, we had the occasion to test our systems and the Galileo RLS infrastructure and principles in real environment.

The whole team was present in Athens from the 19th to the 22nd, for preparation, dry run, manage the classical last minute technical problems, run the demonstration and debrief!

Most of the tests were very positive and we learned a lot from this demonstration and the technical difficulties faced. We are very excited to prepare in the best way the next one!

GREECE DEMONSTRATION

We are excited to announce that the first demonstration is getting very close! The Gambas consortium shall be gathered in Greece in the first half of September to run demo onboard Seaven’s tanker! More details to come soon….

INTEGRATION TESTS

The GAMBAS team has entered since May in the phase of testing the integrated solution ( EMP-V / BEACON / MEOLUT & Ground infrastructure / EMP)! First results are very positive tracing the way to the phase of the demonstrations.

COSPAS/SARSAT – JC-37 – 7th of June 2023

AMMITEC – 1st of June 2023

Association of Maritime Managers in Information Technology and Communications was organized on the 1st of June 2023 by Google Greece. It was the occasion for SYNTHETICA to discuss about GAMBAS project with some participants and distribute some flyers of teh project.

EC SAREG – May 2023

At the occasion of EC SAREG in May 2023, some members of the GAMBAS team did a presentation of the project with a dedicated highlight on the DPS-Distress Position Sharing service. Very positive feedbacks were received on the principles of the service and on the two options given : selection of beacons with ID or geographic selection.

In this month of April 2023, SYNTHETICA had the occasion to discuss (no official presentation) about the GAMBAS project (principles and planned demonstrations) and/or distribute flyers in two events:

TEST READINESS REVIEW (TRR) – COMPLETED – 14th February 2023

We are very pleased to inform that the GAMBAS consortium has successfully completed the Test Readiness Review with EUSPA on the 14th of February 2023. We are now entering a new exciting phase of the program where our systems we get alive for testing. Let’s cross fingers for successful tests and continue with the even more exciting step that will be the demonstrations! Coming back soon with Good news!

DIGITAL SHIP – ATHENS – 19th October 2023

GAMBAS members had the chance on the 19th of October 2023 to participate to the DIGITAL SHIP event organized in Athens and make a presentation of the project (Goals, outputs, developed solutions, demonstrations).

GAMBAS WORKSHOP IN TOULOUSE

After more than one and half year working for the GAMBAS project we finally had the occasion to meet for a two days workshop (13th and 14th of October 2022) in Toulouse in the premises of Thales Alenia Space (13th) and ECA (14th). It was a very good occasion to have work sessions on actual hot topics like the preparation of the demonstrations coming for next year, to have technical discussions and also see live some prototypes of equipment.

PRESENTATION OF GAMBAS AT EU Space Week 2022 (PRAGUE) – UPDATE

As announced in previous post, GAMBAS team participated in the EU Space Week 2022 event and more especially in the UCP Maritime, Inland Waterways, Fisheries and Aquaculture Session. NFI SEMINAR – OS-NMA ON VMS – 25th of May 2022

Participation of GAMBAS members to FAO’s seminar on “Advancing space services to answer illegal fishing issues”.
Online presentation of the project and in particular the new Galileo OS NMA feature on VMS as solution to better control Illegal Fishing.

FOLLOWING THE “MED BLUE ECONOMY IN ACTION” CONFERENCE

On the 19th of November 2021, some members of GAMBAS consortium had the occasion to follow the “Med Blue Economy in Action” conference. Very interesting to hear for Maritime projects from all over Europe, even if not in direct relation with GAMBAS.

GAMBAS PRESENTATION AT EFCA WORKSHOP

On the 25th of September 2021, EUSPA officer supervising the GAMBAS project had the occasion to present the project during EFCA (European Fisheries Control Agency) Workshop, and in particular the use of OS-NMA as authentication mean to help detecting illegal fishing.

GAMBAS PRESENTATION AT SAGMAS/MARSEC

On the 9th of September 2021, GAMBAS team presented the project during a SAGMAS/MARSEC session of DG MOVE. It was a great occasion for us to communicate with an important panel of stakeholders in Maritime Security domain.

GAMBAS WORKSHOP – SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION

The first workshop for GAMBAS took place virtually on June, 23rd 2021 for the first part and June, 29th 2021 with shipowners.

On June, 23rd 2021, the GAMBAS consortium partners presented to the participants an overall presentation of the GAMBAS project covering the following topics:

  • Presentation of GAMBAS project
  • User needs collection process and results
  • Technology awareness

Then three sessions followed, dedicated to user’s groups: Institutions, SAR forces and Ship owners. In each one of these sessions, the results extracted during the user needs collection phase were presented in more details to the participants. The operational scenario baseline retained for GAMBAS was also presented.

We were very happy to virtually meet and interact in this workshop with attendees coming from the following entities:

Bureau Veritas, EUSPA, CNES, EFCA, EMSA, MRCC RIGA, FRENCH DAM

We would like to thank the participants altogether, but also individually one by one for their attendance during this online workshop. The interactive discussions we had during this event were invaluable to us.

We were very glad to receive their questions, replies, comments & possible improvement suggestions on their field of experience/expertise.

GAMBAS consortium is now entering the design phase for the revolutionary solution for the maritime industry. Stay tuned.

GAMBAS WORKSHOP

We are very pleased to announce that a workshop will be organized on the 23rd of June 2021 in order to complete and close the first part (User Needs Collection) of our project.

The goal of this workshop is to present you the results we extracted from this phase of the project, to have interactive discussions about these results, give the opportunity to raise new or complementary ideas and to present the GAMBAS system global architecture and principles.

KICK OFF MEETING DONE!

14th of January 2021 : The GAMBAS Consortium is very proud to announce the successful completion of the Kick Off Meeting with the European Global Navigation Satellite systems Agency (GSA).

Despite the COVID19 difficulties, we will start dynamically by tomorrow with an internal workshop to address the User Needs Collection activities. We will come soon to you to get your feedbacks!
